Night is an original digital collage created through a series of layers, using photographic, fractal and hand-drawn images with original textures and colors. The layers are manipulated individually to achieve the desired effect. No filters were used in this work. Some pieces may have as many as one hundred layers.

I have been some sort of artist since I could wield a crayon as a precocious tyke. I've worked for 50 years as a graphic and fine artist, but I fell in love with digital art when I had the first of three thumb joint replacement surgeries. With my hands in casts for three summers in a row, the urge for creative expression overpowered. I quickly discovered that I could push the mouse around and click without much pain, and digital collage emerged. I create art because doing so infuses my spirit with a powerful, elemental connection to the universe. Each piece is an intimate expression of my own vitality, of the thrill of living every day.
